Fundraising/Volunteering

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Below you'll find our various Volunteer roles and descriptions. Being a Volunteer is a great way to get involved in this great sport and help our kids!

I. ORGANIZATIONAL SUPPORT

1) Fundraising

The new William A. Rice complex is still expanding but is not fully funded. More fields will be built fo us in the near future and we have been contributing to the expansion. We need your help to reach our goal so that everyone that wants to can learn and play this great game. In addition to offering the KP Lax gear, in 2011 we had other options such as The Calendar Raffle and Team Baskets at our Field Day. All these helped us meet our goals. Together, we were tremendously successful!

Your continued support in 2012 is critical to help us keep the momentum. Information on 2012 fundraising efforts is forthcoming. In the meantime, to get involved with KPYL fundraising or if you have any fundraising ideas, email us at kpfundraising@kplacrosse.com. Be sure to include "Fundraising" in the subject line.

Thank you!

Project oriented volunteers interested in working with an energetic team to raise funds for KPYL by:
- Helping to plan and run our Field Day
- Helping to plan and run the Calendar Raffle
- Helping to sell KPYL authentic lax merchandise at/during home games
- Recruiting sponsors and donors of cash, as well as raffle prizes and auctionable items.

Experience helpful but not necessary. Volunteers must commit to seeing the project tasks they volunteer for through to completion. Planning will begin in November. All events will be finished by the end of May.

2) Field & Equipment Maintenance

Primarily preseason work; may require only one morning. Work with others to line the game and/or practice fields. Conduct one-time “spring cleaning” of equipment locker. Touch-up work may be needed during the season. This will occur in early March. In-season help needed to re-line our six fields once a week. Usually requires 1-2 hours of time on Saturday.

II. TEAM & GAMEDAY SUPPORT (Need four categories of volunteers for each team, U-9 thru U-15. Categories 3 & 4 must be at games 15 minutes prior to faceoff.)

1) Team Parent Managers (1 per team)

A team’s head volunteer. Reliable individual to work with the coach(es) on one team. Will help coordinate game-day volunteers who will be responsible for field setup/breakdown, working the scorer’s table and field clean-up. Assignment applies to each HOME game (approx. eight games). No knowledge of lacrosse rules needed, just someone to delegate nd put others to work.

2) Correspondents: Rosters, Photographers, Writing (1 per team)

Varying responsibilities. Need individuals to laminate rosters and take photos or update team news for KPYL website team sections. Videographers are also needed. No web design experience needed.

3) Field Setup or Field Breakdown (Need two+ volunteers per team.)

Set up the field: Remove goals, sideline table/chairs, cones, horn, and clock from equipment trailer and put all in place on/about the game field.
Break down the field: Return goals, sideline table/chair, cones, clock and horn to the trailer.

4) Scorer's Table Assistant (Need two+ volunteers per team.)

Reliable individuals to assist at the scorer's table for each HOME game (approx. six games). May include clock timer, statistics, or scorekeeping. No experience needed; no knowledge of lacrosse rules needed.
